Archaeology Ireland
In 1987 a small team of people with an interest in the general field of archaeology published the first issue of Archaeology Ireland. It has been published every quarter since then. Archaeology Ireland covers many fascinating topics spanning all the sub-disciplines of archaeology, including science, art, architecture, history, geography, economics, sociology, anthropology, technology, religion and more. Archaeology Ireland will keep you in touch with the latest news, reviews and debates that are influencing archaeology and history in Ireland, Britain and the rest of the world. All subscribers receive four free Heritage Guides with each year's subscription, so there has never been a better time to subscribe to Archaeology Ireland. The Heritage Guides were devised by Archaeology Ireland editor Tom Condit as a way of revitalising interest in and giving a present-day currency to specific archaeological and historical sites in Ireland. The sites are presented in an attractive and interesting format—three-sided A4, printed on both sides and folded down to a single A4 size, presented in durable glazed card. The series editors are Tom Condit and Gabriel Cooney. These guides provide new information on specific sites and complexes and, where appropriate, information on physical access to sites. They are richly illustrated with photographs, reconstruction drawings and maps. The layout and text of the guides are designed to give the reader a greater sense of these sites and complexes by placing them within their landscape context. All guides form part of a subscription to Archaeology Ireland magazine but are also available for separate purchase at €4.00 each. A selection of Archaeology Ireland articles relating to road schemes can be viewed in PDF format on the web site of the National Roads Authority.
