Roads, rediscovery and research is the fifth in this monograph series, aims to present to the general public the results of the various archaeological projects associated with road schemes up and down the country. This particular volume contains, among other things, important papers on sites discovered in the path of the M3 motorway and the subject of much controversy. These include: 'The M3 Research Framework and the Lismullin discovery in County Meath' by Mary B. Deevy; 'Fragments from the past: the prehistory of the M3 in County Meath' by Eimear O'Connor; and 'New discoveries and fresh insights: researching the early medieval archaeology of the M3 in County Meath' by Jonathan Kinsella. Impressively, there are also two historical contributions: 'Early medieval historical research on the M3 in County Meath: sources, contexts and analyses' by Anne Connon and 'Digging with documents: late medieval historical research on the M3 in County Meath' by Margaret Murphy. The book also contains papers on the research project on human skeletal remains from Ballyhanna, Co.?Donegal, funded by the NRA.
