• Barryscourt Castle, Co. Cork: Archaeology, History and Architecture

This volume, the eleventh in the Archaeological Monograph Series of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht contains the results of excavations carried out at the castle between 1992 and 2015.

It will also contain a history of Barryscourt and the Barry family, a description and analysis of this important castle, with its large early tower house, and accounts of the restoration of the towers house and of the conservation of remnants of wall painting in its chapel.

The book will be of interest to medieval archaeologists and historians – particularly of Munster, Cork and the extended Barry family.
