Tullaghoge Fort 

Tullaghoge Fort (NISMR TYR038:016; H8250074300) is a scheduled monument in State Care in the townland of Ballymully Glebe near the village of

Tullyhoge, some 3km south of Cookstown, Co. Tyrone. A prominent feature in the landscape, the site comprises a circular earthwork enclosure planted with mature trees and set on top of a drumlin that offers wonderful panoramic views across the surrounding countryside, even on the most overcast of days. (Tulach Óg, ‘hillock of the youths/warriors’) was the inauguration place of the Ó Néill rulers of Tír Eoghain during the late medieval period and, as such, it was a major centre of political power in Ulster.
