A centre for large-scale ritual and ceremony in County Kildare.

Dún Ailinne is a multi-period archaeological site on Knockaulin hill, on the edge of Kilcullen, Co. Kildare. While its main florescence was during the Iron Age (600 BC–AD 400), people have been drawn to the hill for thousands of years and it continues to be important to the present day. Sitting at the south-eastern end of the Curragh, Dún Ailinne is situated within a larger landscape of sites and monuments, providing a visual anchor that can be seen from many different aspects. This landscape includes burials and other sites from many periods, setting Dún Ailinne within a region of long-lived historical and cultural importance.
